Hey all. First off, I know it’s been a while since I’ve written anything. My attention has been elsewhere and life has been busy. Despite that, though, I’ve managed to squeeze a little time into games, and I wanted to write about those this year (like last year).
Like before, I’ll try to stick to a paragraph or so per game. Unlike last year, I’m going to list some games that I’ve played,
Continue ReadingEarlier this year, the LEGO Group released an album on Spotify (and other streaming platforms). The album does not contain music, though; it’s a collection of seven half-hour-long white noise tracks.
It’s probably exactly what you’d imagine: each track is filled with the sound of LEGO® bricks. Surprisingly, they each are unique and have a different flavor; “The Waterfall” is akin to an endless tub of bricks dumped onto the floor.
Continue ReadingThe epic finale to the DOOM Eternal story arrives with The Ancient Gods Part Two. This was the follow-up to my favorite game of 2020: a culmination of all of the gameplay and story so far, concluding with an epic battle against the Dark Lord himself. This one’s for all the marbles.
So, how is it?
Note: This post contains spoilers for the main campaign and both DLCs for DOOM Eternal.
Continue ReadingLast week, Crystal Dynamics released the Future Imperfect DLC for Marvel’s Avengers. This update included Hawkeye (Clint Barton) as a new playable character, a new storyline, and some new explorable areas and repeatable content. So, how is it? Is it worth it jumping back into the game for this update?
Note: this post contains minor storyline spoilers.
First off, Hawkeye himself is a treat to play.
Continue ReadingThis one’s going to be a short one; I’ve pushed some behind-the-scenes updates to ensure the site continues to function normally. In addition, I’ve addressed an issue that meant email newsletters weren’t being sent out — sorry!
There’s a slightly bigger update coming in the near future — around the time that my new project launches. (If you want to learn more about that, you can follow the npc generator tag.) This should include some bug fixes and (hopefully) some performance improvements.
Continue ReadingHello everyone! In case you missed it, I’m working on an NPC generator that will be posted to this website. Unfortunately, I don’t have details on when it will be ready yet. There is a bare minimum checklist of features to be included before launch, and that has already been devastated by scope creep.
Originally, I intended to write a short post about this once a week,
Continue ReadingI wasn’t expecting to jump into a new personal project anytime soon, but here we are. So, what is this?
I’m off-and-on writing a campaign for D&D. I don’t know about you, but I often have a hard time coming up with fresh, new characters. This is a tool to help with that – a random NPC generator.
I built this in part to help prevent myself from accidentally favoring one gender/race/other characteristic over another,
Continue ReadingI’m building a small app that will be posted on this site soon-ish. This is a very early screenshot – I promise, it will look a lot better (and be a lot more functional) when it eventually launches.
More info coming soon.
If you’ve visited this site before, I’m sure you noticed the list of games (and DLCs/story updates) I’ve finished throughout 2020 in the sidebar. They’re all listed in reverse order of when I finished them, with my opinion of them boiled down to a single emoji.
Here, I’m going to try and give a short review for each of them. I’m only going to stick to one paragraph per game (less if I’ve already written a review about them).
Continue ReadingI am discontinuing the Song of the Week posts.
That is all.
